Matthew founded Dunham in 2008 and currently serves as both a Partner and the Director of Tax and Accounting. His professional journey includes a tenure at RSM US LLP, one of the largest public accounting firms in the country.

Matthew’s experience in public accounting taught him that large firms are often unable to provide highly personalized and individually tailored services, even to clients with complex needs. Thus, Dunham is strongly focused on providing individualized services that respond to specific client needs.

Matthew and his team work with individuals, businesses, and nonprofits to file tax returns. In addition to tax filings, Matthew supports clients with tax planning services. Matthew has a particular interest and deep experience in dealing with complex estate issues.

In his free time, Matthew likes to play golf, cycle, and rock climb.

As the Director of Technology and Operations, Sakar is focused on using technology and operational efficiency to enhance the trust that underpins Dunham’s relationship with its clients. Sakar's previous experience includes implementing enterprise-wide technologies at Johns Hopkins and Georgetown University, as well as co-founding two start-ups.

At Dunham, Sakar focuses on implementing technologies that allow the tax and accounting team to reduce time spent on adjacent tasks and stay focused on serving client needs. His efforts are directed towards nurturing talent, refining operational processes, and harnessing cutting-edge technology to support the firm's service. Sakar obtained his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University and a Master's in Interactive Media from New York University.

Sakar is an avid social dancer and in his free time you can find him on the floor dancing Salsa, Bachata and West Coast Swing.
